Not long now until we see the new Jaguar XJ for real. The new 2010 XJ will be revealed at an event in London on 9 July 2009 and Jag promises that these videos are the last drip-feed teaser releases before the unveiling proper.

Watch our video with Jaguar engineering bigwig Mike Cross talking about the dynamics of the new XJ. Scroll to the bottom of the page to hear him explain how it will juggle agility with comfort, thanks to its clever aluminium construction.

And there’s a second video explaining how the car’s lightweight build benefits not only handling and performance, but also CO2 emissions and environmental impact. As previously reported by CAR Online, the new XJ will – in 3.0 diesel spec – emit significantly less CO2 than any other luxury car, including the Lexus LS600h hybrid
