► Turbo S E-Hybrid has 671bhp
► Plus 31-mile electric range

Breathe in, you’ll need all the help you can get to say Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo Turbo S E-Hybrid in one breath without turning blue.

That name is slapped onto the new top-of-the-range Panamera estate, which uses 918 Spyder powertrain tech to pump out a frankly insane 671bhp and 627lb ft of torque available from just 1400rpm.

All of that shove comes from a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 coupled to a 14.1kWh battery that allows for up to 31 miles of zero-emission motoring.

Performance specs are frankly dizzying; 0-62mph is dealt with in 3.4 seconds and just 11.9 seconds in total to hit 124mph. Porsche also claims a maximum top speed of 192mph ‘where permissible’. Although you’ll barely get this combined figure, Porsche also claims a fuel economy figure of 97.7mpg.

Other than the mind-boggling tech underneath, buyers are treated to the Panamera’s slick near-buttonless interior, huge widescreen infotainment system and a breadth of performance options as standard. Porsche’s Dynamic Chassis Control, Torque Vectoring Plus, Ceramic Composite Brake system and Sport Chrono Pack are all included in the price, as are a limited-slip diff, 21-inch alloys and air suspension.

How much? Well before you get all giddy with the options list, the long-named hybrid Panamera estate you’ll have to find £140,868 of your finest Sterling.
