The Volkswagen Golf SV will receive a raft of modest upgrades as part of a mid-life facelift to bring it in line with the latest VW Golf v7.5 hatchback.

See the new Golf SV at the 2017 Frankfurt motor show in September. Click here for our full preview guide of what to expect at the IAA expo.

What’s new on the 2018 model year VW Golf SV?

New features on the Golf SV (short for Sportsvan) include:

  • Traffic jam assist which steers and brakes in congestion
  • Gesture control and latest infotainment system
  • Electro nannies including emergency braking, Trailer Assist and more
  • Latest TSI and TDI petrol and diesel engines

Spot the facelifted SV by its newly contoured bumpers, redesigned headlamps, fresh LED rear lights and five new alloy wheel designs in diameters from 16-18 inches. The latest Discover Pro digital screens expands to 9.2 inches – but only in higher-spec models.

Boggo Golf SV models will be somewhat more spartan inside and out, we predict.

When can I buy the new Volkswagen Golf SV?

Sales start in autumn 2017 after the Frankfurt show world debut. Expect UK deliveries to kick off in early 2018.

The Golf SV was launched in mid 2014, designed to offer Golf qualities in a package with a higher driving position and added flexibility and space.
