The 2015 Goodwood Revival meeting will mark the passing of the Land Rover Defender, after 67 years of continuous production.

More than 50 pre-1966 Series Land Rovers will be assembled at the Goodwood race circuit to chart the early days of the Landie. Unlike the Festival of Speed, the Revival focuses on pre ’66 cars that would have raced at the Sussex track in its earlier days.

The Land Rovers will trundle around the circuit each morning – considerably slower than the other racers present, we suspect – and will be on static display near the Lavant Bank throughout the weekend. Plus the auctioneers Bonhams will showcase the two millionth Land Rover, which is due to be sold for charity in December 2015.

Landies on display will include fire tenders, military conversions, ambulances, tracked off-roaders and even the bright yellow 1950 Series 1 Bertram Mills Circus car that was driven around the ring by resident elephant Kam.
