The DS 4 was the second DS model after the DS 3 - and follows the same recipe, with slightly weaker results. Take one Citroen C4, add some DS sparkle and you end up with a DS 4. We'd still somehow rather take a VW Golf, though. For more information on the DS 4, click on our further stories on the links below.
60sec road test
The range is split in two: choose from a DS 4 hatchback or the marginally more rugged, SUV-lite DS 4 Crossback. The latter is like an Allroad version, but essentially they're the same under the skin. This is not the best DS product and we found it a rather confused offering. It's not great to drive and there's precious little rear space; on the positive side, the interior is nice and the DS trinkets and design chic lift the ambience somewhat.
The one we’d buy
Even a basic one feels better than a C4
The one we’d avoid like the plague
The Crossback doesn't float our boat...
Rivals to consider
Audi A3, BMW 1-series, Mini Clubman
You'll stand out from the crowd...
