► We test the Bentley Continental GT3 at Silverstone
► Bentley’s £368k coupe is designed for competition use
► Not so good for the golf clubs, but fearsomely fast

The Bentley Boys would have loved this: it’s a £368k race-bred Continental GT with a twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8. Power? A heady 600bhp, if you ditch the restrictors – and, despite the Bentley’s size, it weighs in dry at less than 1300kg.

This is a car that’s built to lap for hour after hour, in events including the Blancpain Endurance Series, British GT and Nurburgring 24 hours – and it unquestionably has what it takes to compete. CAR’s Ben Barry takes it for a run at Silverstone to find out just what the Bentley’s like at speed.
