No prizes for guessing this car is based on a van. It's competing in the popular, leftfield sector alongside rivals from Citroen, Peugeot and Renault for plaudits in the mash-up space of the Multi-Purpose Vans (the other kind of MPVs). There are some usefully cheap-to-run engines available and we like the practical and rugged interior - we can't think of many weekend removal chores that a Doblo can't conquer. It's not the sharpest tool in the box to drive, granted, but it doesn't disgrace itself, either.
