The Ford B-Max is a baby MPV with sliding doors - the perfect car for those with young families who've maybe outgrown the Fiesta. For more information on the B-Max, click on our further stories on the links below.
60sec road test
Welcome to the third member of Ford's 'Max' family, following in the footsteps of the C- and S-Max. Interestingly, there are no B-pillars bisecting the side of this car - special strengthening means it's been possible to have a hulking great big aperture in the middle of the B-Max, making it very easy to get in and out. We like. Pick from Ford's new downsized EcoBoost petrol engines or a diesel; we'd plump for the former. As you might expect from a small Ford, it drives well with that usual Blue Oval weight to the controls and a nicely balanced chassis.
The one we'd buy
The one we'd avoid like the plague
Rivals to consider
Honda Jazz, Fiat 500L, Skoda Yeti
Tremendously practical rear doors, decent to drive
Those doors are heavy, diesels can be loud
