60sec road test
This no longer carries the Focus nameplate like the original, but the Blue Oval has invested in this growing range as it now offers two bodystyles, depending on whether you need to carry five or seven people. Both are good choices, at a stroke becoming the best-handling people carriers in this segment. We've come to expect that from Ford, but it does mean that the priority is given to dynamics and slick style over real depth of quality. In our experience, Fords at this level can't match the build quality of some rivals. But the C is a great family car and one we heartily recommend.
The one we'd buy
The one we'd avoid like the plague
Rivals to consider
Citroen C4 Picasso, Renault Scenic, VW Touran
Drives more like a warm hatch than an MPV, loadsa room
Not a great deal, really
