60sec road test
The Seat Ateca is a highly practical car: it's the tallest, roomiest and most family-focused Spanish car since the Alhambra people carrier - and this one is bang on trend with its crossover vibe. The boot's huge, at 510 litres, trumping its Qashqai nemesis. There's an Ateca for everyone, with prices from less than £18,000 at UK launch, enabled by clever parts sharing within the Volkswagen group. So you'll find the Germans' titchy-tiny three-cylinder engine, the option of front- or four-wheel drive, and more tech than you can shake a Spanish stick at. It's good to drive, too - think Tiguan with more bite.
