Several readers have asked what the new Jaguar XJ looks like in black – on account of the black C-pillars shrouded in polycarbonate acrylic. All the official photographs of the new 2010 XJ have been of lighter metallic shades, but our spy photographer has bagged a prototype with only minimal disguise and in full black regalia.

Check out the photos in our gallery above. You can see that the black-wrapped back pillars stick out much less in ebony than lighter hues.
