In 1964 I bought a new Mini Van to take my small family to a job in N. Ireland. The van was lovely in some ways, but it had a slight flaw that made me wonder why it ever achieved cult status - it would never start if it was raining and of course it was always raining in N. Ireland.
I traded it for a clapped-out Sunbeam Rapier convertible and drove that until I ultimately escaped from the UK.
