What do you really think about green cars?

One year ago – in September 2010 – we asked CAR Online visitors to give us their views on motoring’s eco future. How have things changed in 12 months?

Please spare a few moments to answer the same questions again – we’ll publish the results in CAR magazine and compare them with last year.

RE: What do you really think about green cars?

@bertandnairobi - one could argue that the long term in decline of CARs readership (I myself am a lapsed reader) is amongst other things due to a lack of content you or I and many others contributors might wish to see. I wonder at the same time if the CAR web site makes any money for Bauer - are we in fact as postees part of an experiment that might be cut short at any moment - or is there in fact money to be made from  the ramblings of the disaffected, idiosyncratic and border line sociopaths who have sometimes graced these pages.

@Biram Desai;

Totally agree on the pleasure bit but it's not a green activity;

my wife has to look for me for hours until she realises our in-house emission of Co2 and methane gasses reaches Lamborghini Aventador proportions, as I am on the loo enjoying Car Magazine.... So maybe I am not that green........

"The commercial imperative of the brand has led to the likes of CAR positioning itself as a lifestyle magazine which reflects the opinions of its readers rather than informs them. " wrote Comment8. If this is partly true it also reflects consumers´own changing values. I suspect that if a madman (i.e. me) was to wrench control of the editorial command from Mr McNamara) and make CAR more like the kind of publication you have in mind then CAR would not last so very long. Instead we "write" another CAR magazine through postings here where you and others write interesting and thoughful comments.

One of the great pleasures in life is to sit at home and read Car magazine, with a cup of tea.  Quite a green activity !
