Digital preview of the new issue of CAR magazine

Your dream car on your driveway: the June 2013 issue of CAR shows you how. We’ve picked our 20 favourite used car bargains, from the Porsche 911 and BMW M3 to the Renaultsport Clio and Audi TT. With expert insight and spec secrets, there’s everything you need to help you buy your very own cover hero.

Are any of 2013’s new hot hatches fit to join the all-time hall of pocket rocket fame? We’ve driven the new 296bhp Audi S3 and the latest VW Golf GTI, and pitted the Peugeot 208 GTi against the Ford Fiesta ST and Renaultsport Clio 200 Turbo to find out. There’s also first drives of the Renault Captur crossover, BMW M6 Gran Coupe and the most powerful Mercedes AMG ever…

We’ve taken the new 552bhp Porsche 911 Turbo S to meet its 39-year-old 911 Turbo ancestor, looking at how far turbocharged tech has come in four decades. And there’s an exclusive interview with Le Mans racer Anthony Davidson on his horror crash in 2012 and how Toyota are fighting back against the might of Audi’s on-track power for a 2013 rematch…

All that, plus the new Ford Kuga SUV takes on its rivals, we celebrate 40 years of the iconic Caterham Seven, and the latest updates on our long-term test fleet (including a very special newcomer from Aston Martin) are in the new issue of CAR, on sale now. Don’t forget to check it out as an interactive iPad app at the Apple App Store, too.

@ Uncle Phil

the article by Jess Crosse on p.32, do we have to wait until next month to read the end of it - or should we be expecting a supplement in the post shortly?

I hope the latest edition is good - I'm assuming that the apparent lack of engagement with the website is due to the fact that the collective editorial staff have been totally focused on getting the "hard copy" ready!

RE: Free digital preview of the new issue of CAR magazine

Calling a Corvette ZR1 a musclecar is equivalent to calling an Aston Martin Vantage a hot hatch. GT500 vs ZR1 is a bit like comparing an M3 GTS with an SLS AMG Black Series and calling them muscle cars because they both have front-mounted V8 engines. Was the Camaro ZL1 unavailable?

And do you pit two cars together or pit them against each other?

"Meanwhile, Ben Pulman visits California for a double-dose of American V8 firepower: the 662hp Ford Mustang GT500 and the 638hp Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. Supercar-slaying pace for under £40k in the US, but is it worth importing one to the UK?"
