Ryan Gilmore

Ryan Gilmore is CAR magazine’s Deputy Commercial Content Editor, overseeing all the product testing for the CAR website, and our sister website, Parkers.

Coming from a motoring family, his grandfather worked for Talbot and then Peugeot over in Ryton, Ryan was obsessed with both cars and car magazines since his earliest days. It was this interest that saw him pursue a career in automotive journalism, writing content for DriveTribe and Hot Cars during his student years. He also completed a Masters degree in Automotive Journalism at Coventry University, graduating in 2020 with a Distinction.

Since joining Bauer Media as a Commercial Content Writer in 2020, Ryan has spent his time honing his product testing skills, quickly taking a particular interest in automotive detailing. Cutting his teeth testing car shampoos and buckets, Ryan worked his way into taking the mantle of Deputy Commercial Content Editor in 2023.

When he’s not busying himself with vacuum reviews or cleaning the crop of press cars on rotation, Ryan is managing the day-to-day running of A Modern Kitchen, spending his time there testing the latest kitchen gadgets. If there’s something new and interesting on the market, Ryan will be testing it to see if it’s worth your hard-earned money.

In his free time, Ryan can often be found cooking, heading to the gym, or enjoying a screen break on a walk in the countryside.
