Infiniti M35h GT (2012) gets entry-level option

Infiniti are to release a new version of the M35h hybrid executive saloon, aimed at enticing new buyers in with a lowered entry price.

Infiniti M35h GT: New price, familiar engines

The M35h GT model starts from £3790 less than the M35h Premium – previously the only model available. However, Infiniti is promising the M35h GT will retain the brand’s reputation for more generous standard kit than its key German rivals.

Powering both models will be the standard performance hybrid powertrain: a combined 359bhp and 457lb ft from a petrol V6 married with an electric motor driving the rear wheels.

Performance is, well, record-breaking, as CAR discovered last year: 0-62mph in 5.5sec, 155mph though claimed-cleanliness is now improved. Both M35h models will now duck under the 160g/km of C02 threshold.

Infiniti M35h infotainment options

Infiniti’s ‘Connectiviti’ sat-nav/entertainment system can now be ordered without having to have the 16-speaker Bose sound system, in response to customer demand. However, it’s still not a bargain – the interface will set you back £1800.

The ‘M’s standard spec still includes heated and ventilated semi-aniline leather seats, adaptive bi-Xenon headlights, interior wood trim and alloy wheels.

When can I buy an M35h GT?

The new model joins the range in July 2012, with prices starting from £41,101. The flagship Premium model is £45,071, though if you can do without hybrid power and bragging rights, you can put a diesel M30d on your driveway from £39,331.
