CAR magazine is turning 60 – and to celebrate we’re counting down our favourite 60 car makers of the past 60 years.

Who’s your favourite car maker over the past six decades? Ferrari or Lamborghini, for their magical supercar highs? BMW or Porsche for consistently thrilling cars? Citroen for putting people first with comfort and functionality? Or Tesla for turning the fossil fuel industry upside down?

CAR team members voted to jointly create our power list, ranking brands for the excellence of their cars, tech innovation, business health, motorsport success and cultural significance, from 1962 to 2022.
