► “Full throttle – the endless pursuit of power”

Lord March has confirmed that BMW will headline at the 2016 Goodwood Festival of Speed in its centenary year.

The news means that the German brand will have a heavy presence at the motoring event in June – set off by the Gerry Judah-designed central sculpture outside Goodwood House featuring a BMW 328 Mille Miglia Roadster, the Gordon Murray-designed Brabham-BMW BT52 and the Le Mans-winning BMW V12 LMR.

Expect a roster of famous Beemers on four wheels and two to roar, waft and crawl up the 1.16-mile hillclimb in varying states of smokey archive cleanliness. And look out for M Avenue, a display of 40 years of great M division cars, including the all-new M4 GTS.

Dates for the 2016 Goodwood Festival of Speed

The Festival of Speed will run from 23-26 June 2016, with the usual mix of cars and bikes – from around the world of motorsport and beyond – gathered on Lord March’s front lawn.

The theme has now been announced: Full throttle – the endless pursuit of power is the pithy tagline for the summer festival, which will also celebrate the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500, 50 years of Can-Am and the 40th anniversary of James Hunt winning the F1 championship with McLaren.

And the 2016 Goodwood Revival?

The Goodwood Revival will take place from 9-11 September 2016 at the Goodwood Motor Circuit in West Sussex. This is the on-track historic motorsport event, a magical step back in time to the post-war 1948-1966 era when the circuit was an active race venue.

Tickets for both events are now on sale via www.goodwood.com/tickets or call 01243 755055 for more details.
