Hyundai kicked off the show by unveiling six modded versions of its rear-wheel drive Genesis range. Using SEMA as a platform was the latest step in the Genesis PR push, as Hyundai builds up to the Coupe’s US launch next year. ‘SEMA is all about OEMs and the aftermarket collaborating,’ said John Krafcik, who invited DUB magazine, RK Sport, Street Concepts and other tuners to customise the
Genesis.

So what’s that fancy Hyundai Genesis Coupe with a big rear wing?

The centrepiece was the RMR Genesis Coupe, the car Hyundai will unleash in drift series. Formula Drift champ Rhys Millen was on hand to unveil his company’s work, a carbonfibre bodied, drift-spec Genesis.

Its bodykit – including wide wings, an underbody diffuser and bespoke trunk and bonnet – will be available through dealers to allow punters to customise their cars. Hyundai will also encourage tuners to turn up the wick on its 220hp four-cylinder turbocharged engine.
