BMW 5-series saloon (2010): the new spy photos

Published: 10 July 2009 Updated: 26 January 2015

These new spyshots of the 2010 BMW 5-series have just landed in our inbox. The new Five is following the usual BMW pattern: bulky black disguise is slowly peeling away to reveal the car – albeit covered in swirly-whirly black and white camo.

We can begin to see more of the real 5-series underneath, including plenty of actual bodywork. And we can see that the new F10 BM is going to be a slighly more sober affair than Bangle’s current E60 model – with less fussy body surfaces evident on these early spy photographs. All other BMW traits are present and correct: kinked C-pillar, a rising beltline etc.

CAR expects the 2010 5-series saloon to follow the look of the 5-series Grand Turismo, but with a bit of a twist. Insiders claim the new Five will have different characters for different bodystyles.

Don’t forget to check out our earlier artist’s impressions revealing the look of each model. Anoraks amongst you, take note of the new codenames:

F10 is the 2010 5-series saloon
F11 is the 2010 5-series Touring
F07 is the 2010 5-series Grand Turismo
