JB, coming from family which is tied up in the oil industry, trust, me, the 5 years reserve are exactly that. As for whether the science is correct.. Science is by definition flawed, it is never objective and any argument can be proven in this situation. The simple fact is that we see change in the environment, change which, as far as we can tell, is unprecedented. We don't know for certain hat causes it,but the timing makes the suggestion it is human induced a rational one. The only raional way to react is to do whatever we can to minimise our impact, just in case it is the cause. And that doesnt just mean going for less polluting cars, it require change in our entire lifestyle. Eventhough I pesonally don't care abot what thee EEC, UK government and green lobby claim, I do know what I've seen in 10 years worth of traveling the planet. I also know that the debunkers of the idea that climate change is human enduced are at least as selective and mnipulatve with the 'evidence' as the green lobby, if not more so. Governments and the EEC have, by their nature, only economics at heart, and the green lobbye is not exactly stimulating the economy, therefor the government and EEC would have no logical reason to cnspire in this way. In the end, the question is, do you wanna take the risk, just to indulge your own desires.... I don't but if you do, go right ahead.
