► On sale this spring for £102,000

This is the first picture of the new 2015 KTM X-Bow GTR race car – a closed-top sports car developed by the Austrian bike-turned-car maker and Reiter Engineering.

Although still – another – shadowy teaser picture, this is the first time we’ve seen KTM’s new racer, which will compete in GT4 championships.

It’s clear that the GTR version has an entirely different silhouette (mostly because the regular X-Bow has barely any bodywork!) but manages to retain many key styling characteristics intact.

X-Bow GTR: the details

This is the latest addition to the burgeoning X-Bow family. First launched in 2008, the sports car maker added a GT version in 2013 complete with a wraparound windscreen so that drivers needn’t wear a helmet to drive to the shops.

KTM isn’t yet revealing the full spec of the race-bred GTR version, but has confirmed the price.

Sales start in April 2015 and it will cost €139,000, or £102,000 in the UK.

If you thought the regular X-Bow was just a little bit namby-pamby, or not focused enough to race on track, form an orderly queue here…
