Three cars for Europe, Middle East

The Veyron is dead, long live the Bugatti Chiron. This week the first customer deliveries of the new world’s fastest car have begun – and Bugatti has confirmed that half of the 500-strong production run has sold out already.

Three Chirons have been handed over to lucky punters in Europe and the Middle East. Supercar-crazed Europe is gobbling up more Chirons than any other territory; 37% of the 250 sold so far are bound for the continent of its birth.

Wolfgang Duerheimer, president of Bugatti, said: ‘The fact that we have already taken orders for half of the Chiron series even without test drives so far bears witness to the great confidence of our customers in our brand.’

Bugatti Chiron price

How much to join the Bug club? The list price stands at €2.4 million (or around £2.1m) and Molsheim is prepped to build up to 70 cars this year.

Which means the newcomer should be more profitable than the outgoing Veyron, which analysts estimated lost the Volkswagen group more than €1m per vehicle in its earlier years.

We drive the new supercar this spring. Stay tuned for our Bugatti Chiron review.
