Land Rover has announced UK pricing for the new Range Rover Evoque, which goes on sale in September 2011. Prices for the new Evoque start at £27,955 and run to £44,320, with details on the range and specifications below.

Range Rover Evoque – the body and powertrain options

The Range Rover Evoque will offer a multitude of customisation options, as is the way with ‘premium’ vehicles these days. The first choice to make is whether to go with the three-door Evoque Coupe bodystyle, or slightly more practical Evoque five-door.

In a first for Range Rover (conveniently avoiding mention of the Land Rover Freelander), you’ll then get to choose whether you require traditional four-wheel drive, or are happy to cruise the fashionable parts of town with front-wheel drive.  You can have a six-speed transmission to match, either manual or automatic.

Evoque: the engine room

Powertrains choices for the Range Rover Evoque consist of the eD4 (150bhp two-wheel drive),TD4 (150bhp) and SD4 (190bhp) 2.2-litre turbodiesel engines from the 2011 Freelander, along with the turbocharged SI4 2.0-litre (240bhp) petrol engine, aka Ford’s Ecoboost unit.

Range Rover Evoque – trim and equipment packages

The Evoque trim levels are called ‘design themes’. Standard specification for the Evoque is ‘Pure’, which offers 18-inch alloys, leather seats (heated in the front), aluminium trim, 11-speaker stereo and touch-screen display, bluetooth and USB connectivity as standard.

‘Prestige’ is the luxury specification, bringing full Oxford leather interior, 19-inch wheels, wood trim, standard metallic paint, LED and Xenon headlights and foglamps.

‘Dynamic’ is the sports specification, bringing deeper bumpers and side sills, 20-inch wheels, sports interior trim and Magneride adaptive damping as standard.

On top of your chosen design theme, you can add one of two optional equipment packages – a £1900 Pure with TECH package brings your standard car closer to Prestige spec with:

* HDD premium navigation system
* Front parking aid
* Heated windscreen and windscreen washers
* Automatic headlamps
* Headlamp power-wash
* Rain-sensing windscreen wipers

For Prestige and Dynamic buyers there’s the LUX package, which is not a bar of soap but adds:

* Powered tailgate and panoramic glass roof with power blinds
* 825W Meridian surround sound audio system
* 8-inch high-resolution dual-view touch-screen display
* Analogue/digital television
* Auto-dimming rear view mirror
* Surround camera system with tow assist
* Blind spot monitoring
* Keyless entry
* ‘Park Assist’ system
* Advanced climate control with air filtration, air quality sensor and automatic recirculation
