Porsche unveils new Panamera options in LA
 Additions include entry-level 326bhp turbo V6
New LWB Executive version offered

Porsche has previewed a series of new additions to the recently launched Mk2 Panamera range, ahead of the Los Angeles auto show next week.

We’re not just talking some chintzy trim upgrades, either; Porsche’s latest offerings consist of a new entry-level engine, a longer wheelbase version dubbed ‘Executive’ and some new equipment options.

What’s the new engine option for the Panamera?

It’s a three-litre turbocharged petrol V6 that produces 326bhp. Coupled to an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic, it’s offered in both rear- and all-wheel-drive Panameras and is claimed to average between 35.8 and 37.7mpg.

Besides being 20bhp more powerful than the previous entry-level naturally aspirated 3.6-litre V6, it’s also far more efficient – with its claimed economy marking a decrease in fuel economy of some 13% compared to the outgoing engine.

And what about this new ‘Executive’ version?

It benefits from a 150mm longer wheelbase, compared to the regular Panamera. This extra length is used to increase the room in the back, making it a more suitable executive express for those not fussed about doing the driving themselves.

There’s more than just extra legroom at play, though; opt for an Executive and it’ll come with a large panoramic roof, heated front and rear electric seats and a standard-fit electric rear blind.

More importantly, Executive versions come with air suspension and the Porsche Active Suspension Management system.

Presumably you can spend a fortune on options?

Oh, yes – and to further oblige you, Porsche has created a new selection of upgrades for the Executive model. Buyers can opt for a new rear centre console with integrated folding tables, an exterior Sport design package and – for the full ‘modern mobile office’ vibe – a pair of 10.1-inch tablets that can be attached to the back of the front seats, or taken away for use elsewhere.

  • Panamera 4 £69,412
  • Panamera 4 Executive £76,034
  • Panamera 4 E-Hybrid Executive £84,838
  • Panamera 4S Executive £98,672
  • Panamera Turbo Executive £122,480

When can we get our hands on one?

The latest Panamera derivatives will be made available on 10 November in the UK, and first deliveries are pegged to begin in early 2017. More technical details will also be made available in due course.
