It’s show time: the eve of the 2007 Geneva motor show

The cars that matter at the Geneva Motor Show

The doors open at the annual Swiss motor show on Tuesday morning and the new BMW M3 is my tip to pick up the Best In Show gong. Okay, so it’ll be a concept, but remember how BM trailed the M5 with a thinly veiled ‘concept’? Exactly. This will be the M3, just by a different name. To read our M3 scoop from January (artist’s impression above), click here.

The M3 isn’t the only highlight in waiting. We’ll finally get to see Audi’s A5 in the metal, plus the new Mercedes C-class, while Opel will give us a coupe concept expected to drop hints about a funkier Vectra. That’s quite a tough job, methinks.

I’ll also be heading to the Aston Martin stand, to see if we can pick up any news on the imminent sale, and the Maserati corner; in my mind, the GranTurismo coupe looks like it could be the hottest car of the show.

Come back to CAR Online on Tuesday for a full show report. We’ll bring you the new cars the moment they’re unveiled.
