Read into this what you will, but Honda is withdrawing the Accord from UK sale. This is tacit admission that it's not worked out. A combination of unhelpful exchange rates, cut-throat competition and an inability to sell the model at sufficient margin led to the result. Which is a shame, since Honda's family car straddled the line between mainstream and premium rather well. Exquisite engineering was a given, bulletproof motors guaranteed. While the boxy estate was never a looker, the saloon always had a certain discrete style to it. Shame...
