In this age of Pretacostarbucks we expect to drink on the go, and cupholders have become an important part of a car’s interior. Despite having the word ‘cup’ in its name, the Cupra’s cupholders are awful.

There are two in the centre console, one in front of the other: the front one is too deep for a regular coffee cup, and every time you want to take the cup out of the holder you have to pinch the lid in order to get hold of it.

The cupholders in question

This constant ‘is the lid going to come off and pour hot coffee in my crotch?’ jeopardy adds stress to any journey. The second holder seems to be sized for an Italian espresso served in a thimble and is half-hidden under the lid of the central storage box.

Useless.
