Volkswagen Touareg nip and tuck (2006)

Published: 15 September 2006 Updated: 26 January 2015

Here’s the Volkswagen Touareg’s new look, uncovered just before its unveiling at the Paris motor show.

The most significant changes are up front. VW looks to have swiped the facelifted BMW 7-series headlamps to bring the understated Touareg more in line with the Eos coupe-cabrio and facelifted Touran. A new grille and front bumper complete the look. The engine line-up is expected to be carried over. That means a 3.6 V6 petrol and 2.5, 3.0 and 5.0 V10 TDI diesels in the UK. The cabin hasn’t changed much, although some Touaregs will have a flip-up infotainment system embedded in the dashtop. Expect new materials and colour schemes, when the Touareg rolls into the UK around the turn of the year.
