Jaguar XJ (2010) snapped on its press launch

Published: 23 March 2010 Updated: 26 January 2015

CAR reader Simon Stocks recently stumbled upon the Jaguar media launch of the new 2010 XJ in Paris.

Although snapped hastily at night time, his atmospheric scoops show the new XJ on location near various Paris landmarks. There were five identically specced XJs at the Trocadero, and one of his spy shots captures the XJ in front of one of the world’s best known landmarks, the Eiffel Tower.

‘I expect you have plenty of pictures of the new XJ,’  says Simon, ‘but this location is a bit special – Trocadero in Paris. There were five XJs – apparently identical – with Italian plates parked together on Thursday night.’

Sounds like Simon very nearly stumbled upon CAR’s own executive editor Gavin Green and editor Phil McNamara, both of whom have been to Paris to drive the Jag XJ. You can read Gavin’s eight-page feature drive on the new Jaguar in the new April 2010 issue of CAR Magazine.

Special spot prize to any readers who send in genuine independent spy shots of a CAR writer on a launch!
