Reader scoop: Kia Venga and BMW X6 Hybrid

CAR Online regular Miles Williams bagged a brace of interesting spyshots on German roads this week: the production versions of the Kia Venga and BMW’s X6 hybrid.

‘The Venga was clearly production ready
 – I presume it’s being engineered at Opel Russelsheim, as it was on GG number plates,’ said Miles. ‘The engineers weren’t in any rush to pull away once they were spotted
. It reminded me of a Citroën in the metal.’

Miles has clearly had a busy week. On another journey outside Munich on Autobahn 9, he noticed a BMW X6 with a telltale bonnet bulge and ‘hybrid vehicle’ stickers. Yep, he’d spied the world’s most powerful hybrid out on public roads.

‘The X6 isn’t secret any more, so it was interesting why they drew attention to it by covering the badges in nasty black tape,’ said Miles. ‘They obviously think any publicity is good publicity!

‘There was nothing Prius-like about the way it accelerated past me…’
