Range Rover 5.0 V8 reader spy photos

CAR Online reader Daniel Harrison spotted this Range Rover on test near the CAR offices. It’s the new 2010 model year car that will wade in later this year. That means a suite of detail improvements, led by the adoption of the new 5.0-litre direct injection petrol engines and the 3.0-litre turbodiesel – both of which were launched on the Jaguar XF and XK range at Detroit 2009.

‘It seemed suspicious as it was left-hand drive with UK plates and had taped-up headlights, grille and side-vents,’ says Daniel. ‘The driver looked as though he was using it to ferry his family around!’

We’ve checked out the reg plate, which confirms the new 5.0-litre is under the bonnet. This Rangey has twin exhaust pipes at the back, whereas the Range Rover Sports we’ve seen have shown quad pipes. Useful for any anoraks reading…
