Pagani C9 (2011): scooped by a CAR reader

Published: 16 November 2010 Updated: 26 January 2015

Pagani will launch its new C9 supercar at the 2011 Geneva motor show – and a CAR reader has scooped it on test in its homeland.

Guy Collinson spotted this test hack driving on the A8 autostrada and managed to rattle off a quick spy shot before it roared off into the distance.

‘Don’t know if this is of interest, looks Pagani-ish,’ said Guy. ‘We spotted it on the A8 just north of Milan.’

What do we know about the new Pagani C9 supercar?

Apart from its Geneva 2011 debut, we know a few titbits about the new C9. This is the first clean-sheet new design Pagani for years after a series of variations on the Zonda theme.

It will stick with an AMG V12, a 6.0-litre which is tipped to produce some 690bhp.

The chassis is made from carbonfibre and titanium, according to our sources, which might explain the punchy price tag: it’ll cost a stout £700,000.

Good spot, Guy!
