60sec road test
We've yet to drive the new TVR Griffith, but we know plenty about this new two-seater. It's built around Gordon Murray's new iStream manufacturing process, designed to enable flexible low-volume production of niche cars. Sitting up front, under that long bonnet, is a bespoke Cosworth-engineered 5.0-litre V8 motor. No power or performance figures are finalised yet, but we know that around 200mph is on the cards and with a target power-to-weight ratio of around 1250kg, it seems that 490bhp or thereabouts is likely... All this in a car 150mm shorter than a 911. It's compact, edgy, taut. Expect to pay around £90,000 for the new TVR Griffith.
The one we’d buy
Any Griffith looks like a good bet to us...
The one we’d avoid like the plague
Rivals to consider
Looks, likely driving poise, the badge, the mystique.... new Griffith is an enticing prospect!
Can they really pull it off, on budget and on schedule? Let's hope so...
