Luke Wilkinson works as staff writer across CAR magazine and our sister website Parkers. He writes news and reviews for CAR Magazine and its sister site Parkers. He started working for Bauer Media in February 2022 after a stint working at Auto Express for three years.
He started dabbling with car journalism when he was at university. As a student, he’d visit his local car dealerships in his spare time (pretending like he had some money to spend) and test drive cars. He would then rush home to write a review on what he’d driven for his own website.
Luke’s efforts were enough to land him an internship with the Daily Record’s motoring supplement, Road Record. This gave him his first taste of how a working motoring publication operates and set him up with some vital skills for his first proper job after his studies.
Highlights of his career so far include driving a V8-powered (and ULEZ exempt!) Range Rover Classic down Savile Row, redlining the David Brown Automotive Mini Remastered and tearing around Millbrook Proving Ground in a McLaren 720S.
When he’s not shackled to the news churn, Luke spends his spare time skateboarding, going to the gym and working on getting his classic Mini back on the road, which has been reduced to a pile of boxes and mound of rust in his parents’ garage.
