All the same content you love in print but completely overhauled and optimised for your phone and tablet. The newly designed interface allows you to scroll through articles with a swipe of your finger and tap on content to reveal image galleries and additional content. Plus, we’ve worked hard to ensure that the font size is set just right to make reading a pleasurable experience whether you’re viewing on your phone or tablet.
We’ve also introduced some really helpful functionality based on your feedback. The search function allows you to find any content in any issue…instantly. And the Bookmark tool means you can save all your favourite articles in one place, giving you easy access to them and creating your own custom Car library.
Q: Where can I get the app?
A: It’s available on the two major app stores – Apple and Google Play. So, as long as you have an iPad or iPhone, or an Android tablet or phone, you’ll be able to install the app (see below for a more comprehensive list of the devices the app will work on).
Q: How do I find the app in the App Store and then install it?
A: Go into your device’s App Store and search for the magazine. For example, type ‘Car Magazine’ into the search bar. It should come up straight away – then go ahead and install it.
Q: Can I subscribe?
A: Yes. You can either use your iTunes / Google Wallet accounts to subscribe, or do so via the Great Magazines website, which is our own platform.
Q: Why should I subscribe?
A: Because it’s the cheapest way to buy the magazine! The longer you subscribe for, the bigger discount you’ll get!
Q: When will each issue come out?
A: The digital edition will automatically appear in the app on the same morning as the print edition appears in the shops. You might need to refresh the app to see it.
Q: Will the app be interactive?
A: Yes! The Car app is optimised for your phone and tablet and is enhanced with video and unique content to the digital edition.
Q: If I have problems with the app, is there anyone that can help me?
A: Absolutely. The best thing to do is go into the app’s main menu, select the ‘Feedback’ option and then fill in the form that appears, before tapping ‘Send’.

In both cases, we should get back to you within 24 hours during the working week. Occasionally this might rise to 48 hours if we’re seeing a lot of queries come into our team.
Q: What devices is the digital edition available on?
A: If you’re an Apple fan, it works on any iPad and iPhone except the original iPad, the iPad 2, the iPad Mini 1 and the iPhone 4.
On the Android platform, as long as you’re using the Lollipop and Marshmellow operating system with a tablet or phone that isn’t too old (say, older than four years as a broad benchmark) you should be ok.
If you use a Kindle Fire tablet, please check on the Amazon Newsstand to see if there is a digital version of the magazine available. Unfortunately we can’t control the apps on this platform so cannot offer free issues.
