Here’s a pair of new Suzukis bound for the 2016 Paris motor show: the new Ignis crossover and the mildly facelifted S-Cross.

The Suzuki Ignis looks like more of a baby crossover than ever. It’s due to make its European debut in the French capital on 29 September, before going on sale in the UK in January 2017.

Interestingly, the new Ignis will be available with the company’s SHVS hybrid technology. Don’t be confused; this is not a full hybrid, but rather a mild system that uses an integrated starter/generator that harvests energy when slowing, then uses it assist the engine when accelerating.

Suzuki SX4 S-Cross facelift at Paris motor show too

Also new at the Paris motor show is a gently updated SX4 S-Cross. As well as some tidied-up styling details, the group’s 1.0- and 1.4-litre Boosterjet direct-injection turbo engines will replace the old 1.6-litre petrol.

The 1.6-litre DDiS diesel will continue to be available when the revised 2017 model year S-Cross arrives in UK dealers in October 2016.
